How cinematography helped my photography

 I’ve always liked photography at a young age and I never really understood there to be any basics other than point and click the button. I’ve found that after taking some cinema courses, and watching in depth movie analysis I wanted my shots to be really dynamic and complicated. I remember in cinema 1000 we read about a lot of different camera shots and how much meaning can come from its composition and lighting it made me think all shots even photography needed to look like this. But after watching Martha Rosler semiotics of the kitchen her camera was very straight on with one angle yet the movie itself presented a very strong message about the stereotype of a woman's role in that time. It helped me with realizing more how much composition and placement can be important to the piece but necessarily always needed.
